Convegno Internazionale "THE 1998 EBHA CONFERENZE Deindustrialization and Reindustrialization in 20th Century Europe". 24-25 settembre '98. Villalago di Piediluco. Il Convegno ha visto la partecipazione di 120 studiosi e ricercatori provenienti da tutto il mondo. Al termine del Convegno è stata premiata la migliore tesi di ricerca. Giovanni Luigi Fontana, Presidente Associazione Italiana Archeologia Industriale; Venerdì 20 Novembre Tavola rotonda: Un monumento industriale: la pressa da 12.000 t; Venerdì 27 novembre mostra fotografica: Galleto La memoria del lavoro e l'immagine del monumento; Martedì 1 dicembre Tavola rotonda: Il futuro dell'Acciaio; Venerdì 11 dicembre Convegno: La Conca Ternana e i monumenti della produzione: per un parco archeologico - industriale
